Remix Licence
JAEKA
This Remix Licence explains the rights people give and get when content is remixed on JAEKA. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Use, and works together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Use. Where this Licence and the Terms of Use conflict, the Terms of Use control.
1. What "remixing" means on JAEKA
"Remixing" means creating new content on JAEKA that starts from an existing post. The original post is the "Source Content," its creator is the "Original Creator," and the new post is a "Remix." A Remix can itself become Source Content when others remix it.
Concretely, a Remix on JAEKA is produced in one of these ways:
- the Source Content's prompt is carried into the composer, where the remixer can revise it and generate something new;
- for images, the Source Content's image may be used as an input to an AI edit — the remixer's instruction is applied to it to generate a new image; and
- for video, a still frame is taken from the Source Content and re-animated to generate a new clip.
In every case the output is a new work generated by AI, created by and belonging to the remixer. The Source Content itself is never republished as part of a Remix.
2. The remix license you grant other users
Every public post on JAEKA can be remixed. When you post User Content publicly, you grant every other user of JAEKA a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable license to remix that content on and through the Services, in the ways described in Section 1, subject to this Licence, the Terms of Use, and the Community Guidelines. This license lets other users use your prompt and media as inputs to generate new works, and to post and share those Remixes within the Services.
By posting, you confirm that you own or have the rights needed to grant this license, and that remixing your content will not infringe anyone's rights.
If you do not want something remixed, do not post it publicly. JAEKA does not currently offer a per-post remix opt-out; if we add one, this Licence will be updated and the setting will govern.
3. Attribution
JAEKA applies remix credit automatically: each Remix records and displays a link to the post it came from, and posts display the prompt and model that generated them. You may not remove, obscure, or falsify this credit or attempt to defeat it.
4. Who owns a Remix
A Remix is a new work. As between the remixer and the Original Creator, the remixer owns the Remix they created, subject to the Terms of Use and to any rights the Original Creator holds in the underlying Source Content. The Original Creator does not acquire ownership of Remixes made from their content, and the remixer does not acquire any ownership of the Source Content.
Both are AI outputs, so the caveats in Terms of Use §4 apply: we make no representation that any output is original, protectable, or free of third-party rights.
5. Deletion — what happens to Remixes
Remixes survive the deletion of their source, and this is the most important thing to understand before you post.
If you delete a post, or delete your account, we remove your content from the Services. Remixes that other users already created from it remain, because they are separate works owned by the people who made them. The license you grant in Section 2 survives deletion only with respect to Remixes already created, and it grants no right to make new Remixes from content you have deleted.
Where a Remix's stored record links back to a deleted source, that link is severed — the Remix remains, no longer pointing at your removed post.
If a Remix of your content violates our rules, or infringes your rights, deletion is not your only remedy: report it (Section 8).
6. Commercial use
The rights granted between users under Section 2 are for creative and personal use within the Services. Selling, licensing, advertising with, or otherwise commercially exploiting another user's Source Content or a Remix of it outside the Services is not permitted under this Licence unless the rights holder authorizes it separately. Nothing here grants rights to third-party material embedded in Source Content, such as trademarks or a real person's likeness — see Terms of Use §9.
Your own original content, and your own Remixes, remain yours to use elsewhere subject to the Terms of Use and to the terms of the AI models that generated them (Terms of Use §5).
7. Rules that apply to every Remix
- Community Guidelines apply in full. You may not use remixing — AI-assisted or not — to create anything the Guidelines prohibit, including sexual content, non-consensual intimate imagery, or deceptive synthetic media.
- Don't remix to harass. Repeatedly remixing someone's content to mock, degrade, or target them is harassment, regardless of what the images show.
- Likeness rules still apply. Remixing a post that depicts a real person does not give you rights to that person's likeness (Terms of Use §9).
- Moral rights. To the extent permitted by law, and only as necessary to enable remixing on the Services, you agree not to assert moral rights against good-faith Remixes made in accordance with this Licence. This does not permit anyone to use your content in a way that is defamatory, that falsely implies your endorsement, that misuses your name, likeness, or voice, or that violates the Community Guidelines.
8. Our license to operate remixing
To provide remixing, you grant us the licenses described in Terms of Use §4, including the right to host, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute Source Content and Remixes, to transmit Source Content to our AI provider as a generation input when a Remix is created (Terms of Use §5), and to generate and preserve remix credit across the remix chain. We do not use your content to train AI models.
9. Enforcement and reporting
Remixes and remixing activity that violate this Licence, the Terms of Use, or the Community Guidelines may be removed or restricted, and accounts may be limited or terminated.
- General violations — report the Remix in-app (⋯ → Report) or email support@jaeka.ai.
- Copyright — DMCA process, Terms of Use §10 (dmca@jaeka.ai).
- Non-consensual intimate imagery — ncii@jaeka.ai or jaeka.ai/ncii (48-hour removal, no account needed).
- Impersonation or likeness — Terms of Use §9.
10. No warranties; your responsibility
Source Content and Remixes are made available "as is." You are responsible for the Remixes you create, for the prompts you write, and for making sure you have the rights to any material you add. We are not responsible for how other users remix your content within the bounds of this Licence, though we enforce our rules as described above.
11. Changes
We may update this Licence as the platform evolves. We'll post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and communicate material changes through the Services. Changes are not retroactive as to rights already granted for existing Remixes.
